Chicago Reads Together

Story time group

Chicago Reads Together, a citywide early literacy initiative focusing on the critical ages 0-5, nurtures early literacy and language development through:

  • story time programs at library locations for infants, toddlers and young children conducted by librarians trained in early literacy development and Story Troupe Leaders (storytellers and literacy experts).
  • community outreach activities at day care centers, preschools and community organizations;
  • professional development workshops for librarians, teachers, parents and caregivers.
